The television series entitled Bakemonogatari is about the life and adventures of a young man known as Koyomi Araragi. Koyomi is a young man in the final years in high school who is a survivor of a terrible vampire attack after which he finds himself in the midst of different forms of ghosts, gods, mysterious creatures, spirits as well as mysterious animals but succeeds to escape. After the attack he is now half human and half vampire and with the help of a man with supernatural powers he is gradually transforming back to human.One day while in school one of his classmates known as Hitagi falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. Hitagi is known for always keeping to herself, always being quiet and shy by her friends. As Koyomi holds her, he realizes that she weighs very little and decides to help her even though Hitagi warns him to mind his business and stay away from her.Koyomi takes her to visit a man known as Oshino Meme who has supernatural powers. Oshino lives in a dilapidated building in an isolated area and was the one that helped Koyomi transform back to his human form after being a vampire.As the series progresses, new characters are introduced as heroes or heroines with different and unique abilities and capabilities.

They each have a specific shapes and attribute that makes them different and stand out. For instance Mayoi has a bag which is a snail's shell, Suruga has arms that look like those of a monkey, Karen has her favorite yellow suit which has black stripes just like the colors.The series also progresses such that the events of every episode follow proceedings of the previous one. The series was written by Nisio Isin and directed by Akiyuki Shinbo.

Illustrations were done by Vofan and it was published by Kodansha. Music for the series was provided by Satoru Kosaki. The complete series comprised of twelve episodes all of which are available on DVD.

Kizumonogatari (傷物語) is the film adaptation of, the second book and origin story of the Monogatari light novel series. It is the 8th anime adaptation from studio, and is composed of three parts as separate films: ( Tekketsu-hen, 'Iron-Blooded'), ( Nekketsu-hen, 'Hot-Blooded'), and ( Reiketsu-hen, 'Cold-Blooded'). Each film is about an hour long, though the last part is the longest at about an hour and 20 minutes.The first film premiered in theaters on January 8th 2016 in Japan and in February 2016 in select theaters in the United States and Europe. An official Canadian screening for the first film also came in late August 2016.The second film premiered in Japan on August 19th 2016 and in the United States at in Akibafest 2016 and a week later in select theaters in October 2016.The final film premiered on January 6th 2017 in Japan.
