This entire need for thin clients is specifically a kludge to deal with the fact that these are legacy (style) applications being used. Had this medical system been designed to late 1990s standards, there would be no need for the thin clients as a standard interface (like web) would handle this. The thin client setup itself, along with the dangers of exposing the database, the reliance on LAN security, the need for managed applications and so forth are all a cascade based around the legacy nature of the core app. If that app was done like we were making medical software in 1999, you'd be free of all of that and able to work from anywhere more security, simply and transparently like you can with your MS Office 365 products. The application that is used by the client is called i-Clinic. The application is still being supported and developed with a tool from France called WinDev. It's a modern tool to build Windows application with latest technology. I don't understand why a modern application could not talk to the back-end witch is a Hyper-File SQL server that hosts the database. How would you modify your data then.The database structure is based on SQL. Windev provides the developers and their customers with a Hyper-File SQL server that can be installed on the local server to host the database. If thin clients are willing to make a remote connection to the main office hyper-v server then the branch office is able to work and everything is managed and maintained at the main office.

YOu keep mentioning Hyper-V. That's just the hyper-visor. Normally you would connect to your server, not to your hyper-visor for remote access.I know that Hyper-V is just the hyper-visor. I meant to say that there will be Windows Clients (W10PRO) installed on the Hyper-visor.

I thought about the solution for the client and thought that a simple Thin Client would be sufficient to connect to the main office through the Site 2 Site connection to one of the clients that are running on the Hyper-visor and then used for working with the application.
